Discover, create and learn

A visit to the Van Eesteren Museum or the Museum House is not only educational, but also incredibly fun! Students can let their imagination run wild and discover what makes Nieuw-West so special. The architecture, urban planning and history of the General Expansion Plan (AUP) are presented in an interactive way, so that students gain knowledge in a playful way.

Substructure

Looking for Aldo?

During this workshop, we take the students on a journey through architect Aldo van Eyck's playground equipment. Through an exciting story, song and movement, and creative craft projects, students discover how important a pleasant play environment is for their own neighborhood.

Middle school

Build your own neighborhood

During the workshop, the students will develop their own neighborhood with LEGO, based on the model of the General Expansion Plan. In this way, they discover all the special features of the AUP. They work together and thus develop their own new city together. After the workshop, they take a neighborhood walk to see what the General Expansion Plan looks like in practice. A unique and educational experience.

Superstructure

Discover the gems of Nieuw-West

The students go on an adventure in New West! They are going to discover the gems of the AUP, such as the “Paint Box” flat or the Museum House. After exploring the neighborhood, they will work on their creative talents at the museum. They give the “Paint Box” a whole new look with a unique interior. Together, the papers form a beautiful new North Bank
