Workshop: Foraging & Herbarium

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of wild plants and botanical art with our inspiring Foraging & Herbarium Workshop! Discover how the nature around us offers edible and medicinal plants and learn how to use and collect them in a creative way.
This workshop consists of two parts:
- In the first hour, you will be guided by herbalist Leoniek Bontje, who will teach you the principles of foraging. Learn which plants you can find around the Van Eesteren Museum, and discover how to use them in different ways.
- In the second hour, Irvi Çela will take you through the art of making a herbarium. You will learn how to create a beautiful composition of collected plants and flowers on paper, perfect as wall decoration or for other creative ideas.
Do you want to add a personal touch to your herbarium? Bring a plant you have a special connection with and would like to keep. Other than that, you only need to bring yourself and warm clothes for the walk.
About the workshop leaders:
Leoniek Bontje is an expert in foraging and nature education, with years of experience in recognising and utilising edible and medicinal plants. Irvi Çela is a passionate researcher and creative. His herbariums immortalize the beauty of nature and its connection to people.
