About Roua Atelier:

Roua Atelier/Roua Alhalabi focuses on sustainable natural dyeing techniques and strives to have a positive impact on the textile industry by developing pigments and techniques that are environmentally friendly. The main goal is to educate people about the natural dye industry, including the history of natural colours, old craft techniques, and sustainable practices for choosing and dyeing clothing with environmentally friendly materials. Roua grows indigo in Amsterdam, both in the De Vlugt Garden and at various locations in the city. For a long time, the indigo plant grew in Amsterdam and was used to dye Dutch wool.
