Celebrate the importance of community and care with our collective cooking workshop with artists Müge Yilmaz and Clara Arámbugo! As we all know, plants have always been at the base of many traditional cuisines, allowing people to get nutrition, while also connecting with each other. The act of cooking can be a feminist practice where we listen and care for each other. On the last day of The Sacred Life of Plants, we want to come together and celebrate a festive moment!

During the workshop we will prepare:‍

  • Yaprak Dolma (Sarma): A traditional dish made of grape leaves, rice and spices. It is a symbol of hospitality and community spirit in many countries around Anatolia. In this workshop, we will cook the vegetarian version from Turkish tradition.
  • Tortillas: A traditional food from Mexico and Central America, made from native corn; the basis of the Mexican diet and of great cultural importance.

About the workshop leaders:

is an artist whose work investigates the psychological, social, and environmental dynamics of the ecosystem, envisioning future scenarios that highlight issues of conservation and resource scarcity. Clara Arámburo is an artist whose multidisciplinary practice encompasses installation, collective cooking practices, painting, video, and photography. Her work explores how bodies connect to landscapes through embodied knowledge, identity, and cultural ties.
